The calculator draws on:

• National Joint Registry (NJR) data and NHS England Referral to Treatment (RTT) waiting time statistics.
• NHS reference costs and published national datasets
• Pathway assumptions informed by NHS pilot sites in South Wales
• Independent health economic methodologies applied in collaboration with Swansea University

Designed to keep insights relevant, the model will be updated regularly. OPCI can also incorporate local data provided by organisations and recalculate results using the most recent datasets, ensuring outputs reflect the current position as closely as possible.
